A Laboratory for Presence

A LABORATORY FOR PRESENCE

Omprov facilitates a learning environment that effectively challenges people to explore new ways of being, relating and taking action.

  • Omprov is a gateway into presence through contacting the body’s wisdom.

The invitation is to “feel what you feel” and “know what you know” so that you can integrate and move forward.

Drawing from a variety of movement and breathing techniques such as yoga therapy, Self-Awakening Yoga and Laban technique we contact what is ready to be worked with.

  • We work with the “Here and Now” principle, making the “Then and There” present in the moment.

This means that whatever arises in the moment is the work we need to engage in.

Everything is seen as an opportunity for healing, honoring and learning from each other’s process. Each session is a process towards integration.

  • Have you considered which options you have available?

Neuroscience confirms our greatest opportunities to integrate new habits and learn new ways of being happen during play.

We use drama-inspired techniques and playful group dynamics that spark spontaneity and a sense of community.

What wants to happen?

In Omprov you will be introduced to simple games that awaken presence, aliveness and a sense of inter-connectedness with the group. You will be introduced to a movement technique, and a creative expression technique. In some OmProv sessions we will paint and explore the inner world through art, in others we will read from a text: poetry, play reading or other material and will explore its symbolic meaning in your own life and the collective world.

Prema Snyder

Prema Snyder is the founder of Omprov Lab. She is a facilitator of the healing arts, specializing in embodied learning through movement, breath and awareness. She co-directs the Therapeutic Yoga Institute, a school for yoga teachers at the 200-hour level and continuing education in meditation, fascia and therapeutics.

Her guided practices support students in cultivating an “inner-felt sense”, re-framing meaning and exploring new ways of being and moving through life.

Born and raised in Costa Rica, her experience in wellness allows her to facilitate well-rounded spaces for healing, community building and integration. She studied at the Sat Yoga Ashram from 2012 to 2019, and was later a faculty teacher at Nexus Yoga Institute, facilitating 200-hour and 300-hour yoga teacher trainings.

With a background in contemplative religion and psychoanalytic theory, merged with the evolving field of somatics, she continues to circle back to a “bottom-up” approach to healing and wellbeing, providing students with a sense of agency and choice.
